Baby 81

Can a nuclear submarine initiate a earthquake of magnitude 8.9? This was worth asking before the USS San Francicso (SSN 711) crapped its way to Hawaii. Cmdr. Kevin Mooney is reassigned, Machinist Mate 2nd Class Joseph Ashley, 24, of Akron, Ohio is dead. Please let us know how many warheads she was holding at the time. No dont mention it. By worth asking of course I mean not worth mentioning to anyone unless you are wearing sunglasses to avoid their glare. Does the pope get a DNR? Can you pontificate on a respirator? Pulling any plugs is clearly not allowed. Technology is a bitch, really. Allowed to perform so many more tasks than we ever could before, and yet so linked to each other that when one fools phone rings, three around him cant help but check their own. Even while wearing those pretty white earbuds the instinct pervades. Id like lastly to mention that the internet is really in deep doodoo. I think this because I have finally been overrun with spyware and viruses. I grew up in a suburb thinking it was average. I went to college and used hi-speed internet thinking that everything would soon be changed for the better as a result of the increased communication. Try communicability, it turns out. Adults who run the world can barely log on, eyes glassing over at the hint of connecting, migrating or backing up. Whats the plan? It is this. Let things get super crapped out, boxes trashed, relationships and perceptions ruined by porn and instant messaging. Spam the hell out of everyone. Let it get real bad so they clamor for the feds to take control for us. Copyright rulings are the front line. Sortv Free Speech will ensue. Internet over power lines or satellite onto linux seems the only solution. Keep quiet quiet quiet.

it is organic. like a newly evolved species, the internet will grow and contract, mostly grow, and change according to what it finds it needs as it goes along.
Survival being the prime directive for any organism, the internet is more or less pushing itself to overload as you say, filling up on spam and junk and what-not, garbage garbage garbage, and then figuring out how to defend itself better, how to "eat better" so to speak, and it's making adjustments all the time. It can't and will not happen overnight, though the process goes exponentially faster as it moves along. Everything does.
And, to continue the analogy, this Internet "animal,"
being made up of all the millions who use it and work with it and around it, might be only the first of its kind as the human race becomes more self-aware of itself as an organic being in its own right. More and more might come into being as The Human grows larger, faster, stronger, and, godwilling, smarter.
