This month was action packed because I was rejected from all the doctoral programs I applied to. Again. Better luck next year. Knowing that thousands of people protesting in Lebanon encouraged “the government to resign” makes me think I can take my time. Syria has been occupying Lebanon? Did anybody mention this when we decided to go to war over there? Wouldn’t this prove worth getting involved in before? Did this just happen? I hate to throw questions around, it’s more important to learn now about after-hours trading and being short. Still worth mentioning that its cool that Putin has the balls to talk to Bush and still help increase Iran’s atomicness. “Democracy is good as long as it does not cause the destruction of the state” or something like that. Canada seems to think that NORAD will protect them in a sufficient manner and have opted out of the new us ballistic missile defense system. Seems reasonable until you consider the likelihood that a new system will certainly induce the obsolescence of the last, as in why would we be putting good work into NORAD if we are going to build this new system. Closer to home, ChoicePoint (previously spun off by Equifax, one of 3 US credit reporting agency) and T-Mobile (owned by Deutsche Telekom AG) both had revelations made about their database security. In each case, we the people only heard about it because California law requires that such breaches be reported to consumers. The former VoiceStream only had to deal again with the handiwork of Nicolas Jacobsen (21) because someone finally posted some celeb phone numbers, more than a year after the hacking. They are not required to tell us more. Martha, clearly the nations favorite woman, is thankfully safe from abuse and infection from jail and now will host a TV show. I was wrong about the stocks shooting up in the winter, but I was right about something cooking. Chase and Bank1. Verizon and MCI. Gillette and Proctor and Gamble. Federated buys Mays, Highfield buys circuit city, SBC buys AT&T. This reeks of ungoodness. Electricity was deregulated but I still cant buy it from anyone but one company. Im beginning to think that my interests are really not being attended to by my elected representatives. Dont quite know how to respond yet though. I mean really. I am getting a little unclear on why we don’t just have two companies in every sector. Or maybe just Google. Sheesh. I would like to remind you that comments are not allowed until I actually start working full time and PRODUCING something of substance. Untill then... I will curse microsoft for finally requiring that the computers I have built get an official copy of the operating system. The result? my most succesful linux installation yet (SuSE). Now if only I could rember the Ffing password.
